We value an inclusive community where people new to Australia understand their rights and are treated with equality and dignity. We strive to help everyone understand how to achieve this in a way that embraces diversity and strengthens communities.
We run a number of community legal education sessions throughout the year. These include:
- Temporary Protection Visas and Safe Haven Enterprise Visas
- Family Reunion
- Mandatory Cancellation of Visas
- Driving Laws
- Family Violence
We are always open to suggestions regarding which topics are most relevant to local diverse communities and encourage multicultural groups and organisations to contact us to discuss your needs.
Rights and Responsibilities for Young Migrants
The Humanitarian Group is delivering free community legal education about the rights and responsibilities of young migrants, with a focus on people in their final years at school.
The session usually runs for approximately an hour to an hour and a half and covers information about:
- keeping your visa, including when and how visas can be cancelled;
- becoming a citizen;
- bringing family members to Australia; and
- family violence, including what it is and how it can affect a person’s visa.
If you would like to book a session for your organisation, please contact Daniel Santos.
