Tsage* is from Ethiopia. After she came to Australia to be with her husband, both her parents passed away. As a result, Tsage’s siblings were left orphaned. At the time, the eldest was 13 years old. Tsage did what she could from Australia to support them, as there was no other family to look after them.
In 2012, we helped Tsage apply to bring her orphaned siblings to Australia. After a long and complex process, including DNA tests to prove that the children were in fact Tsage’s siblings, orphan relative visas were finally granted in 2015 and the children were able to be reunited with Tsage in Perth.
